Do you wonder how to utilize coding in your classroom? Do you ask yourself where coding can fit into your curriculum and how it can accelerate student learning? These are some common questions that arise when educators work to identify ways to integrate coding into the classroom in a way that is not at the expense of the content that needs to be covered. Coding in the classroom promotes the 4Cs (creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication) and allows ideas to come to life. Through coding students are also able to demonstrate computational skills as they develop and employ strategies for understanding and solving authentic problems. During this session, we will discuss where to get started and explore ways to enhance your learning environment with coding. This session will highlight specific web-based apps, iPad apps and robots that can be used to support this integration. Participants will walk away with sample lessons, resources and classroom applications.
